Nearly one in five (19%) endowments and foundations plan to invest more in hedge funds this year, according to research by NEPC.
A survey of endowments and foundations found that 70% plan to keep their hedge fund allocations the same, while 11% plan to shrink their allocation to hedge funds.
According to HFM InvestHedge‘s most recent survey of US university endowments, 83 institutions managing more than $1bn had some $82bn invested in hedge funds as of the figures available in November 2017, a 2.2% drop on the $84bn invested as of 2015.
