James’ investment career began in 1999, and he joined NEPC in 2007. As a Partner, James is a member of the Asset Allocation team and also serves as a Senior Advisor within Fixed Income. James’ responsibilities in research include development of NEPC’s Key Market Themes and Current Opportunities, refinement of Asset Allocation and Risk Management tools used across the firm as well as oversight on a variety of Fixed Income asset classes. James also spends time working directly with clients in support of NEPC’s various practice teams, delivering NEPC’s investment tools and research expertise.
Prior to joining the research team, James was a Partner on the Philanthropic Practice Group working with healthcare clients and endowments and foundations. In support of his client relationships, James develops investment programs incorporating results from NEPC’s proprietary Risk Models to inform development of investment policy statements, asset allocation and manager selection.
James is a co-chair of NEPC’s Asset Allocation Committee and a member of the Fixed Income Research Advisory Group.
Prior to joining NEPC, James was a Senior Fixed Income Operations Manager at State Street Global Advisors, responsible for daily performance calculations, bond pricing, derivative valuation and trade control and maintaining internal portfolio management records.
James received his B.A. in History from Boston College. James holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
