Emerging Managers

Diversity is valuable not only in an investment portfolio, but in terms of investment managers themselves. Through our Emerging Manager Policy, we set out to find the best managers for our clients, and we work diligently to identify qualified small and emerging firms, particularly those owned by minorities and women.

Emerging Manager Research at NEPC is coordinated by our Emerging Manager Advisory Committee, led by a senior member of NEPC’s Research team and comprised of Partners, Consultants, and Analysts from both the Research and Consulting teams. The members of the Committee are listed below.

This Committee makes itself fully accessible to emerging investment managers. Additionally, the team leverages an augmented eVestment Alliance database of more than 450 emerging firms, actively monitoring more than 150 and directing screened firms into our broader, integrated manager search and review process. These searches and interactions have been productive: we work with more than 30 of these managers in current client relationships, and our clients have given some of these firms their first accounts.

NEPC actively engages with organizations such as the National Association of Security Professionals (NASP), which focus their support on minority- and women-owned firms.
