Brad Smith, CFA, CEBS, has joined NEPC as a Partner and Senior Consultant.  Mr. Smith joins the firm from Hewitt EnnisKnupp and brings over 20 years of investment consulting experience to NEPC.  He is an accomplished executive with a strong investment consulting skill set and a demonstrated track record of success in the investment consulting industry.  Brad will be located in NEPC’s Atlanta office.

Prior to NEPC, Brad was the Eastern Region leader for Hewitt EnnisKnupp’s core consulting business where he had responsibility for managing their traditional consulting team.  Brad has a breadth of experience in discretionary consulting and has worked with all types of clients. Prior to the Hewitt/EnnisKnupp merger, Brad held the position of CEO for Hewitt’s U.S. Consulting practice.   Mr. Smith commented, “I have known NEPC for years and have always been impressed by their commitment to clients, proactive consulting approach, and the stable, independent business model.  I am looking forward to being part of the NEPC team.”

Mike Manning, NEPC’s Managing Partner, noted, “Brad’s experience is a great complement to the current expertise we have in our corporate practice area.  He has worked with very large corporate defined benefit and defined contribution clients and many of his defined benefit clients have embraced liability driven investment (LDI) strategies.  NEPC is an industry leader in designing and implementing LDI solutions for clients and Brad’s experience combining LDI and discretionary services is a natural extension of our business.  We are very excited that Brad is joining NEPC.”

Brad earned his B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College.  He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation as well as the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation.
