Hedge Fund Consultant - Emerging Markets & Asia

July 11, 2017

Job Summary:

Candidates for this position will most likely be serving in a comparable role at a plan sponsor, investment manager or consulting firm specializing in hedge funds. You will be responsible for the review, evaluation and analysis of emerging markets (with a focus on Asia) within the hedge fund space.  This includes identifying, interviewing and performing due diligence (qualitative and quantitative) on new managers not on our platform, as well as existing managers.  In addition, you will perform ongoing monitoring of the managers in your strategy and prepare quarterly reports on developments in your strategy, as well as authoring research and white papers.  It is expected that you will be involved with negotiation of investment commitments and relationships. This role also includes interaction with clients and new business presentations, as necessary.  As a research consultant, you will mentor analysts and junior staff on manager due diligence.

Research Consultant - Traditional Assets

Job Summary:

Candidates for this position will most likely be serving in a comparable role at a plan sponsor, investment manager or consulting firm specializing in international equities and/or fixed income. You will be responsible for the review, evaluation and analysis of the managers and funds within the international space and serve as the primary contact with managers in that strategy. This includes identifying, interviewing and performing due diligence (qualitative and quantitative) on new managers not on our platform, as well as existing managers. You also will be responsible for capital markets views of the international landscape.  In addition, you will perform ongoing monitoring of the managers in your strategy and prepare quarterly reports on developments in your strategy.  You will be responsible for the creation and updating of educational presentations for both internal and external use, as well as research white papers.  Attending and speaking at industry conferences, as well as NEPC conferences and offsites is required.  It is expected that this individual will be involved with negotiation of investment commitments and relationships. Interaction with clients and new business presentations, as necessary.

The Senior Research Analyst will be part of the Real Assets Research team (encompassing Real Estate, Energy, Timber, Agriculture, Commodities, and other real assets) within NEPC’s broader research group.
