Performance Analyst

Job Summary:

We’re looking to a Performance Analyst in our Las Vegas office.  NEPC’s performance analyst department is an important resource for our Consulting business.  The Performance Analyst is responsible for gathering financial performance data from various sources and putting together monthly and quarterly reports for our clients.  It is a fast-paced, high energy environment with an opportunity to interact with professionals inside and outside the firm.  Other responsibilities include interaction with custodian banks, reconciling portfolio returns, and creating customized graphs.  Each PA works with approximately 20 clients and is responsible for accurately calculating monthly portfolio returns and characteristics.  All types of investment transactions are tracked and processed using custom PC software.  Data is gathered from hard copy statements, and electronically using various bank downloads and data files.  Data input is required and is an important component of the job.  Each PA interacts with multiple analysts and consultants within NEPC, as well as with our clients’ custodians and investment managers.

Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Summary:

NEPC is seeking an Accountant I to help build a solid accounting and financial reporting department that will be able to efficiently serve both the internal and external users.  This position reports directly to our Sr. Controller.  Responsibilities shall include but are not limited to:

Accounts Payable:

  • Responsible for preparing and processing all vendor invoices using Microsoft Dynamics SL and M-Files
  • Assigns general ledger coding to invoices, obtains approval signatures on all invoices, and produces checks for signature
  • Transmits Disbursement Ledger to Accountant II for review
  • Maintains monthly accounts payable related tracking schedules (accruals, prepaids, etc)
  • Adheres to rent and tax related tracking spreadsheets for payments due prior to processing
  • Monitors accounts payable aging

Bank Related Activities:

  • Imports check run to Positive Pay banking system and informs release needed by Sr. Controller or CFO
  • Initiates ACH, Wire, and cash transfers in Positive Pay banking system and advises release needed by Sr. Controller or CFO
  • Downloads daily bank statement and completes all SL entries needed related to Lockbox receipts, ACH, wires, other incoming deposits, bank loan activity, checks, and other outgoing payments

Quality Control:

  • Validate data; obtain missing information, and resolve discrepancies and exceptions
  • Preserve the data integrity of all reporting information
  • Maintain organized work flow to ensure accounts payable function is completed accurately in a timely manner, in adherence to established policies & procedures
  • Create/monitor reconciliation reports and assist with resolving reconciliation differences

Senior Research Consultant - Traditional Assets

Job Summary:

Candidates for this position will most likely be serving in a comparable role at a plan sponsor, investment manager or consulting firm specializing in equities and/or fixed income.  You will be responsible for the review, evaluation and analysis of the managers and funds within your asset class and will serve as the primary contact with managers in that strategy.  This includes identifying, interviewing and performing due diligence (qualitative and quantitative) on new managers not on our platform, as well as existing managers. You also will be responsible for capital markets views of your asset class. In addition, you will perform ongoing monitoring of the managers in your strategy and prepare quarterly reports on developments in your strategy.  You will be responsible for the creation and updating of educational presentations for both internal and external use, as well as research white papers.  Attending and speaking at industry conferences, as well as NEPC conferences and offsites is required.  It is expected that this individual will be involved with negotiation of investment commitments and relationships. Private Equity Analyst

Job Summary:

The Private Equity Analyst builds and maintains knowledge of institutional investment managers and processes by conducting investment manager research for various Private Equity strategies (i.e. buyout, venture capital, growth equity, fund of funds, direct lending, mezzanine, distressed and secondaries) and providing related analysis as a member of the Private Equity team.  Working closely with the consulting teams the Private Equity Team develops the clients' annual investment plan, identifies the investment strategies, managers and investment funds that best suit the clients' needs. This position will also participate in the manager monitoring process and will be responsible for providing research/consulting support to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep knowledge of the Private Equity strategy and the underlying investment managers in order to serve as an internal resource to consultants and consulting analysts seeking current information, including opportunities within the strategy, data and analysis, and comparison to other managers in strategy.
  • Participate in evaluating and monitoring Private Equity managers including attending and participating in meetings with managers, summarizing meeting outcomes, and evaluating the organization, and investment strategy, process, and performance.
  • Participate in the data collection process to ensure accurate entry of quantitative and qualitative information into the database for use in written due diligence reports.
  • Work with the Private Equity team to prioritize the list of Private Equity managers/funds for which due diligence reports will be created.
  • Develop research and documentation for the Private Equity surveys, trends and other related analysis.
  • Participate in monitoring the clients' Private Equity managers.
  • Assist in the specification, evaluation, selection, and on-going improvement of the firm’s manager research analysis and knowledge management technology.
