John R. Minahan, Ph.D., CFA
Senior Investment Strategist
John is a senior investment strategist, with a focus on asset allocation and strategic research issues. He also works on special projects including researching new investment approaches, developing quantitative tools, and client projects in asset allocation, risk budgeting and tail-risk hedging. He worked as an employee at NEPC for nine years as a senior consultant, director of research, and a senior investment strategist. In 2010 John took a faculty position at the MIT Sloan School of Management and began working with NEPC on a consultative basis.
John earned a Ph.D. in managerial economics from the MIT Sloan School of Management. He also holds a B.S. degree in economics from Boston College. He serves or has served on the board of directors of several organizations, including the Boston Security Analysts Society, where he was the President (2008-2009). He is also on the steering committee of Boston QWAFAFEW, a quantitative research discussion group, and is active in the CFA Institute.
