Claire Woolston

Senior Consultant, Private Markets

Claire joined NEPC in 2008, having worked in the investment industry since 2001.  Claire is involved in NEPC’s private markets research and due diligence, with an emphasis on real estate.  In addition, she provides consulting services for the non-traditional asset classes of various public, corporate, Taft-Hartley and endowment/foundation clients.

Prior to joining NEPC, Claire was an investment analyst at the Williams College Investment Office.  There, Claire was part of a five-person team managing Williams College’s $2 billion endowment portfolio.  She focused on asset classes including private equity, venture capital, real estate and real assets, and hedge funds.  Prior to Williams, Claire completed an internship at HighVista Strategies, where she focused on evaluating investment opportunities for a $900 million multi-strategy fund that invested in both marketable and alternative asset classes.

Previously, Claire was a Senior Consulting Associate at Cambridge Associates, where she provided investment consulting services such as asset allocation, endowment spending, manager selection, and performance analysis to endowments and non-profit clients.  Claire was also the Head of Global Associates Training; where she led a 15-member team in implementing a training program for new associates from five global offices.

Claire received an M.B.A. from Harvard University and a B.A. with Distinction from Yale University.  She is an elected board member and CIO of the Harbus Foundation, and an active member of the Investment Management Club and Finance Club.
