Throughout NEPC's history, we have been performing specialized consulting work for endowments and foundations of all types. While much of the work we do for endowments and foundations is similar to the work we do for our other clients (manager search, asset allocation, or performance measurement), the area we add considerable value specific to endowments and foundations is on spending policy analysis. Our studies examine the assets of the fund in the context of the institution's spending needs to determine the optimal asset mix to achieve targeted return objectives at permissible risk levels.
NEPC currently services 58 Endowment and Foundation clients with total assets in excess of $28 billion. Our performance measurement universe features the largest Endowment/Foundation universe with over 5,191
portfolios, containing roughly $125 billion in assets.
